"He's a crooner with sexy and undulating style that made him a perfect match for our Brazilian fashion and jewelry show at PM. His self-arranged interpretations of Jazz standards recall John Pizzarelli's energy, Chet Baker's charm, Jobim’s (and a little of Kenny Rankin's) smoothness, and Michael Franks' playfulness. His originals surprise with classic appeal, and sit well within the framework of the more familiar tunes. He endears and intrigues both musically and visually, lending an elegance in a rare package that is richly musical and compelling." - Trinny Ferrazzy

Jordan Okrend Free Show!

Asheville, NC based singer/songwriter Jordan Okrend blends the old school with the contemporary. Growing up in Raleigh NC, Jordan picked up the guitar at age 7 and immersed himself in the music scene performing hundreds of gigs from a young age. From his love of artists such as John Lennon, Marvin Gaye and Bob Marley, Okrend struck upon his own soulful sound; vintage pop imbued with an infectious jazzy, bluesy rock edge and socially conscious lyrics. From the get go Okrend’s music tended to draw from the social/emotional spectrum which resonated deeply with his growing fan base. His first press write up was a glowing hometown article on his music video for his debut single “Bottled Up” which raised awareness of teenage depression.

Jordan released his first two EP’s, Unpredictable and Rising Up, between 2010 and 2012 while attending Berklee College of Music in Boston and supported both releases by performing throughout the East Coast in NC, NY and Boston. He later traveled around Brazil and Hawaii; soaking up the native musical influences and writing songs for his latest EP, World Keeps Turnin’. Okrend, like his trusty Martin acoustic, which has accompanied him since he began his musical journey, has now seen thousands of performances and has gained a lot of attitude along the way.

Andrew Tufano Free Show!

Musically and otherwise, the opposite of harmonious isn't always dissonant. The two coexist in a sort of multidimensional continuum, defined rigidly when observed, but coalescing with changing proportions in their natural states. And so, in creating something wholesome, it's often useful to sidestep those blurred lines that we use to delineate harmony from dissonance, spontaneity from resolve, and creativity from productivity.

Andrew Tufano has spent the last four years honing in on the substance behind these ossified labels through months of independent touring, hundreds of shows nationwide, and three heterogeneous EPs blending a pop acoustic sound with folk and soul roots. In an attempt to further shatter the myth that an artistic nature conflicts with an enterprising spirit, the Nashville-based artist kicked off 2016 by writing, recording, and releasing 100 songs in 100 days.
